Richard Skidmore, has 17 years experience as a primary teacher and latterly an Assistant Headteacher. In addition to being the Computing Lead for a large multi academy trust, he is also a Google Certified Educator and a Seesaw Ambassador. He has vast experience in using technology innovatively in his own classroom as well as developing its use by other teachers.
“I joined the Vital team in April 2022 after 17 years of teaching in primary education. During that time I led many subjects but was given the role of ICT coordinator during my NQT year. The subject has changed beyond recognition since then and I have enjoyed the challenge of adapting and also seeing the wider influence of technology within teaching and learning.
“As an assistant headteacher in my previous school, I was able to roll out the use of chromebooks and GSuite to transform the way learning took place. I have vast experience in using technology innovatively in my own classroom as well as developing its use by other teachers.
“During my time as computing lead for Ebor Academy Trust, I worked alongside teachers, computing leads, and headteachers to develop the use of technology within their schools. This involved working 1:1 with teachers, preparing and delivering bespoke CPD, and helping subject leaders with developing their computing and technology strategy. I am really enjoying the opportunity to continue working within schools and ensuring that the children get the most out of the technology within school.”
